About Us - Crowd For Angels

If you are looking to invest in a growing small private company, a small listed public company, or to raise funds for your business then Crowd for Angels can help.

Crowd for Angels is a UK crowdfunding platform that offers companies and investors opportunities to raise and invest funds in different projects. Our crowdfunding opportunities include shares (equity), crowd bonds (debt) and digitalised securities (a form of cryptocurrency). We are based in the heart of the City of London, the financial capital of Europe, and a stone's throw away from the venerable London Stock Exchange.

Since 2014 we have helped dozens of companies to jumpstart and scale their business by assisting them in raising finance from the thousands of investors on our innovative crowdfunding platform.

The backstory of Crowd For Angels

Crowdfunding is a long-established tradition that began in the 1600s. Its popularity today is mainly due to how the Internet made it accessible to others outside of institutional investors. However, it was not always executed very well. In 2013 our founders had solid accountancy and finance background allied to an entrepreneurial streak, and ran a technology company too. They believed they could do crowdfunding better and far more professionally.

The objective was to provide investors with a vehicle and investment channel they could trust and rely on to be transparent, compliant, fair and friendly.

In 2014 Crowd For Angels was born, focusing on harnessing advanced technology with governance best practices to provide a safe route to funding for investors. We think we have achieved that.

Innovation was uppermost from the very beginning

No crowdfunding platform told investors what share price they might expect when first investing. We changed that. Now most platforms do it as a matter of course when listing companies seeking funding.

Entry level for investors was typically around £5k but we lowered that right down to just £25 from the outset.

No platform embraced blockchain and smart contracts like we did a few years ago, and most still shy away from this paradigm-shifting technology. We welcome companies in all sectors, including high tech.

We were the first regulated crowdfunding platform to open a crypto payment gateway, create its own ERC-20 token (ANGEL), and to offer a security token sale. We welcome investors who wish to pay in cryptocurrencies as well as standard bank transfers and debit cards.

This innovative approach is a very good thing for users. They know they are using leading edge techniques and technology but wrapped in a very user friendly platform and support organisation.

Where we are today

Set against the background of the technology deployed and the robust governance of our approach is something else that is extremely important but rather invisible. We are at heart a people company, which resonates with investors and fund-seekers alike.

We have many long-standing relationships and frequent phone calls from clients who like to keep in touch now and again. We believe it demonstrates that nothing can replace personal contact as a central pillar of doing business well.

Now we have over 30,000 Angel investors on board from over 40 countries and about 800 entrepreneurs registered. Outreach activities bring awareness of CFA to potential client companies seeking investment. We work with Universities, help start-ups voluntarily and partake 2-3 events monthly that grow our network.

To sum up

Our goal is to bring innovative and appealing investment opportunities to investors and to provide funding for companies throughout their growth cycle. Our team brings this to fruition every week.

Companies can raise finance through the issue of shares (equity), crowd bonds (debt) and digitalised securities (cryptocurrency) on our crowdfunding platform.

Our investors get the opportunity to invest through

  • Shares (equity) in a tax efficient manner through the use of SEIS/EIS tax relief
  • Crowd bonds (loans) that can be held in a tax free IF-ISA wrapper
  • Digitalised securities (a form of cryptocurrency)

We never charge our investors any fees and companies looking for investment, only pay if the funding is a success.
