TeaPayment Ltd
TeaPayment, an electronic money institution* helps Fintech companies to process payments by providing e-wallets to end-users. The cost to provide this service is significantly reduced for companies and provides greater control and transparency for companies and users.
About TeaPayment Ltd

TeaPayment Ltd is primarily being established to support the payment requirements of P2P lending platforms, Loan Originators and Loan Aggregators, collectively known as the distributors.

What can we offer?

The TeaPayment platform will offer all the payment services required for our distributors to perform their day to day operations. At a high level, this includes the ability to:

  • accept deposits from investors and issue the corresponding e-money

  • store investor e-money in segregated e-wallets

  • allow distributors to transfer funds to an e-wallet held in the name of the borrower

  • issue a payout to an external bank account and redeem the corresponding amount of e-money

Another key requirement from our distributors was the ability to add fees to any payments made. This allows them to collect their fees in a manner suitable to them.

Such entities have large client bases, which require efficient payment services but are often dispersed across multiple jurisdictions. This leads to unique challenges for these firms, particularly considering that the distributors often undertake payment transactions on behalf of their users. These institutions require a solution, which meets their requirements in a way that is cost effective, secure and intuitive to use. Such solutions on the market at the moment are very limited, particularly for those requiring remittance outside of the EEA.

Person using Teapayment

What's our market?

TeaPayment will serve this market by creating a platform, which allows our distributors to perform all the payment operations required for their business to operate effectively. Such operations include the creation of e-wallets for end-users, the collection of funds, the transfer of e-money between users and the remittance of funds. In addition, all the distributors will have the opportunity to charge a fee to users during any transaction - a key requirement of our target clients. A full list of use cases is attached in the documents section of the pitch.

TeaPayment has worked with representatives from a range of firms in the industry to understand their needs in detail and build a platform that meets their requirements. By focusing exclusively on clients in this industry, TeaPayment is able to build a platform with all the functionality they need without anything they don’t. By limiting the scope of TeaPayment, we are able to focus our efforts and create a cost-effective solution for our clients.

Our dashboard

TeaPayment will give all distributors access to a client dashboard which allows them to review and manage all e-wallet owned by their users. This will allow them to review user information such as:

  • personal details of the user

  • due diligence performed on the user

  • the e-wallet(s) owned by the user

  • bank accounts linked to the user

  • a summary of the financial position of the user

  • a transaction history for the user

From the dashboard, the distributor will be able to take a range of actions on behalf of the user in order to carry out their business functions. Such actions include:

  • creating e-wallets in the name of the user

  • requesting a payout to an external account

  • transferring funds to another user

  • uploading KYC and Due Diligence documents relating to the user for the review of TeaPayment

  • updating the user’s personal information

Accessing our website.

Our website is currently behind a password wall, this is because it is still under construction. However, if you would like access to the dashboard to find out more about how it operates, please contact [email protected]

*Regulated Activities.

TeaPayment seeks to provide e-money issuer services and seeks a full E-Money Institution licence to
facilitate the low volumes initially transacted.

The firm aims to be an e-money issuer that provides third party clients with e-wallet services
that will allow their clients’ users to pay in to an e-wallet or virtual account, allow transactions
between e-wallets, and allow withdrawal of funds by their clients’ users to other bank accounts.

TeaPayment is not currently regulated.
