BOS Films Ltd
BOS films specialises in producing African flavoured films for mainstream audiences. The company was formed by award winning film maker, Bibi Shadbolt after her debut film was selected to 8 international film festivals.
About BOS Films Ltd

We believe there is a gap in the market for an African film that goes beyond just African audiences. One that is accessible to all cultures and across cultures. It is with this idea that we are currently looking for investment for our next project, 'Victoria Island'

Set in London and Lagos, Nigeria, Victoria Island is a classic rich girl-poor boy love story that follows the life of Elizabeth James, a stuck up girl who is given a reality check when she reluctantly goes on a working trip to Nigeria.

Elizabeth is a girl who likes the finer things in life. She lives in a plush apartment in Mayfair London with her rich American boyfriend, works for a multi-national clothing company in central London and parties at the best places in town. Her life is perfect. That is...until her boss asks her to oversee the opening of a new production house in Lagos, at which point her life is turned upside down.

On arriving in Lagos, Elizabeth is met by her driver, the cheery, laid back Sunday Johnson who is keen to introduce her to all the goings-on in Lagos. Although she initially takes an extreme disliking to Sunday, the more time she spends with him, the more she realises that there might just be more to life than material things after all.

'Victoria Island' has a budget of £500,000 (inc VAT). Having spent approximately £100,000 to date, we are now raising up to £400,000 to complete the film. We're seeking £50,000 to £150,000 on this platform. The rest of the money will be raised through tax credit, VAT reclaim and expected borrowings.

KEYS TO SUCCESS.

We have put together a highly experienced team to work on this project. Our cinematographer, Stephan Bookas has worked on Hollywood high budgets like 'Guardians Of The Galaxy' (2014) and the 2014 Disney production, 'Maleficent'.

Production designer David Bryan won an Oscar in 2008 with the film 'The Hurt Locker'.

While the cost of 'Victoria Island' is only a fraction of the average Hollywood film, we expect the final look and quality to exceed films of its class and budget. With our highly eperienced team, choice of location and the utilisation of existing resources, 'Victoria Island' will be an exciting film without an over the top budget.

The success of this project will not only be determined by the look and quality of the film but also, marketing. We have allocated £50,000 - £100,000 of the budget to marketing and advertising.

Before the film creation and final editing take place, the production team aim to create an air of excitement with articles about the cast and director. Our lead cast Brian White is on American Prime TV show 'Scandal' and has a large social media following.

Based on the market comparison, market size and nature of project, return on investment is estimated at least 37% over a 3 year period.

The directors of BOS Films have a wealth of business experience. After the success of her first film, Bibi Owusu-Shadbolt was awarded The African Entrepreneur of the Year in 2015. Co-director Alan Reading is a business consultant who has helped to create branding ideas for businesses of all sizes. He was the past president of Chamber of Commerce and currently runs two business associations.
